Why do I get a red box with an error message "Save to disk file not found. Save to disk feature is disabled. Run Phdisk for information. FILE: create new. PARTITION: consult manual.  Hit any key to exit." when I boot my notebook?

The red box error relates to the Phdisk utility that creates the correct file size for the save to disk feature.  This error can occur after installing additional RAM in your Acer/TI notebook. To fix this error message perform the following procedure.  This creates the proper Save2Dsk.bin file needed to perform Save To Disk.

1.  Go to Start, Shutdown, and restart to MS-DOS mode.

2. Type PHDISK /delete /file at the DOS prompt. The system will restart to Windows 95.

3. Again go to Start, Shutdown, restart to MS-DOS mode.

4. Type PHDISK /create /file.  This will create the new file needed to perform Save To Disk.
