Resolving Wireless transfer rate drops when running on battery.

If the wireless connection transfer rate appears normal while connected to AC power but drops considerably when running on battery, you can adjust the wireless power management settings to help resolve the issue.

Please note: By changing these settings, battery life will be reduced.

  1. Go to "START"
  2. Go to "Control Panel"
  3. Double-click on the "Network Connections" icon in the control panel
  4. Right-click on the "Wireless Network Connection" and select "Properties"
  5. Click on the "Configure" button on the General tab
  6. Click on the "Advanced" tab
  7. Highlight "Power Management"
  8. Remove the check mark from the "Use default value" option. (Note: The adjustment bar will be greyed out until the check mark is removed.)
  9. Slide the marker on the bar to "Highest"
