Below are the instructions for installing Windows NT on the TravelMate 310.
Please Note: The video will default to VGA at 640X480. As a result, the display will not look as crisp.
- Attach the FDD to the parallel port.
- Insert the DOS boot disk into FDD and start system.
- Once at the A:\ prompt type "fdisk", then ENTER.
- In the main Fdisk option screen, select option (3) Delete partition or Logical DOS Drive, then press ENTER
- Select option (4) Delete Non-DOS Partition, press ENTER
- Select the partition, press ENTER
- When asked, "Are you sure (Y/N)" press Y, then enter.
- Press ESC until back to the main FDISK Options screen, press ENTER
- Select option (1) Create DOS partition or Logical DOS Drive, press ENTER
- Select option (1) Create Primary DOS Partition
- Select "Y" to use maximum available size for Primary DOS Partition. Press any key to restart.
- Once back to the A: prompt, type "format c:" then ENTER. When asked to proceed with format (Y,N) press Y then ENTER
- Once format is done insert the CD boot disk into the FDD and connect the Addonics CD ROM drive, then restart the system.
- At the A: prompt type "lock C:" then press ENTER. When asked are you sure type "Y" then ENTER
- Insert the Windows NT 4.0 CD in the CD ROM drive, switch to the Z: and type "CD i386", press ENTER.
- Type "WINNT /B" then press ENTER.
- Remove the CD Boot diskette and follow the normal Win NT install procedure.
