How do I restore the factory software?

NOTE: If you receive a Recovery CD pack consisting of multiple CDs, use System CD first. When you have chosen to rebuild your system, insert the Recovery CD with the corresponding language to continue.The Recovery CDs and the System CD will help you to restore the hard drive with the original software content that was installed when you purchased your notebook.

Follow the steps below to rebuild your hard drive. (Your drive will be formatted and all data will be erased.)  It is important to back up all data files before you use this option.

  1. Press F2 to enter BIOS Setup during Power-On Self-Test (POST while the TravelMate logo is being displayed).
  2. Arrow over to "Boot".
  3. Refer to on screen instructions to set the 1st device to "CD-ROM Drive".
  4. Press the CD-ROM drive eject button and insert the System CD.
  5. Close the CD-ROM tray.
  6. Press ESC to return to the main menu, then press ESC followed by selcting ENTER to save changes and reboot the system.
  7. Select "A" to accept.
  8. When you finish the recovery process, please remove the Recovery CD and insert the System CD again. After restarting computer, Windows installation continues.
