The Microsoft Windows Update website lists an updated driver for the O2Micro Smartcard reader. Do not install this driver. It will cause the operating system to no longer operate properly. If the driver has been loaded follow the instructions below to restore the system.
- Turn the computer on and start tapping the F8 key.
- Choose Safemode
- Log in as Administrator
- Select (NO) to enter System Restore.
- Select `Restore to a previous date´.
- Select the most recent restore point and follow the prompts.
