3. Why is the pen not accurate?
If you change Screen Orientations or sitting positions, etc. it may be necessary to recalibrate the pen settings.  This is done under Tablet and Pen setting in Control Panel.  Screen display must be set to 1024x768 for the pen to be accurate.

4. Are there any add-ons for Microsoft Office to enable the features of the Tablet OS?
Microsoft provides downloadable add-ons that allow the use of the handwriting features and other options for Office XP applications only.  There are no add-ons available for Office 2000 or earlier versions of  Office.

5. Can user rights limit functionality of Windows XP Tablet PC Edition?
The same user rights that apply to Windows XP Professional also apply to Windows XP Tablet PC Edition.

6. Is there another way to activate the Input Panel?
There are several methods to activate Input Panel.  We strongly recommend using the Tablet PC tutorials for detailed information on the features of your TravelMate C100.

7. If I use ink in my Word documents, when I share the files with other people who do not have a Tablet PC, are they able to see the ink?
Anyone who uses Office 95 or newer versions should be able to see the ink comments.  However they will not be able to do anything with the document such as editing in ink, etc.

8. Can I customize the display rotations?
You can go to the Quickstart icon in the lower right hand corner for Change Tablet and Pen Settings. Click Properties and here you can edit the landscape and portrait settings to your preference.

9. What is the best way to extend the battery life?
The wireless LAN consumes quite a bit of power.  If you are not in a WLAN environment, we recommend you turn off the WLAN function. This is the quickest way to save battery power.

10. I am having trouble latching the LCD to the base unit.
Make sure you slide the latch all the way to the right side (Tablet mode) or to the left side (closing the unit in normal mode) so the locking device is fully extended to lock it down to the base unit.

11. Why does the pen from my PDA not work with the TravelMate C100?
The TravelMate C100 ships with a digitizer that is designed to work with our inductive cordless pen. You must have our pen to take advantage of the Tablet functions. If you lose the pen, you can get a replacement from Acer.

12. Can I use Microsoft Office programs on my tablet computer?
Microsoft Office XP works the same on a Tablet PC as it does on any other computer running Windows XP. Also, Microsoft Office has designed the Office XP Pack for Tablet PC, which allows you to take advantage of Tablet PC's rich inking features when you're using your favorite Microsoft Office XP programs.  If you don't have Microsoft Office XP on your tablet computer, you will need to purchase and install it before you can download and use the Office XP Pack for Tablet PC.

13. Can I reinstall or remove one of my Tablet PC components?
Tablet PC components cannot be independently installed, removed, or reinstalled.

14. What application do I use to take notes?
You can use Windows Journal to take notes.  To access Windows Journal click on Start, All Programs, and Windows Journal.

15. My highlighted words will not print from Journal.
By design, highlighted words do not print from Windows Journal documents.

16. How can I delete several Sticky Notes at once?
Sticky Notes can only be deleted one at a time.

17. How can I view all Sticky Notes at once?
Sticky Notes can only be viewed one at a time, in order of date created.

18. Must all users use the same Tablet and Pen Settings?
Tablet and Pen Settings are stored per user.

19. When logging on, the Logon Keyboard does not acknowledge the keys I have tapped.
It is perfectly normal for the keys not to turn blue when entering a password on the Logon Keyboard.  This is a security feature.

20. While using the Speech option in Office, the voice recognition is very faint.  Is this normal?
This is normal if you are using the internal microphone to record.  An external microphone is recommended for this option.

21. Can I restore default settings in Windows Journal?
Pen settings, Highlighter settings, Menu and toolbar positions, Find pane and note list pane positions, Stationery settings, as well as other settings can be restored under the Options dialog box (Options/Other/Restore).

22. Can I increase the size of my voice Sticky Note?
Voice Notes can be a maximum of 30 seconds.

23. Where is my stylus pen?
The custom stylus pen is embedded in the upper right-hand corner of the LCD panel.
